Swiss stone pine bread bowl (Brotschalele)

Our Swiss stone pine bread bowl is an absolute classic and almost a cultural object made in South Tyrol. The bread bowl is, as the name suggests in the South Tyrolean dialect, a smaller bowl intended for bread on the table, which can be found on the laid table at every meal. This is the Zirben bread bowl.

The Swiss stone pine bread bowl is available in four sizes with a diameter of 34 cm, 30 cm, 26 cm or 22 cm.

Since Swiss stone pine wood has an antibacterial and fungicidal effect, a bowl made of this wood is an ideal storage place for bread, fruit, nuts and treats.

It is turned from a single piece of solid wood and like all our bowls, it is naturally of premium Swiss stone pine from South Tyrol.

The Swiss stone pine is rightly known by this nickname, because for thousands of years people have valued it for its outstanding properties.

The main occurrence of Swiss stone pine is in the Alpine region and it only grows from an altitude of 1,500 metres upwards. 

Due to its excellent adaptation to extreme conditions, the Swiss stone pine 

reach a stately age of up to 1,000 years.
